Neurographic art can be used to ease anxiety, reduce stress, empower, and problem solve...but did you know it can be used to anchor memories in our cells, too? Join us for a group drawing algorithm to pick the events, highlights, and important memories we want to carry with us from the old year into the new. A joyful opportunity to draw in community...and draw in community!
Do you struggle to remember events that have meaning to you, even if you want to?
Do you find yourself looking back over the year, wishing you could capture some of the highlights?
Neurographic art is perfect for that!
While moving our body across the page in repetitive smoothing motions, we are rewiring our neural connections. The body-mind connection that has the ability to help us change how we think also has the ability to help us anchor and solidify the GOOD things in our life, and the things we DO want to remember.
Neurographic art is accessible art to help anyone, regardless of technical skill, physical ability, or previous practice.
It’s perfect for all ages.
It can be done alone or in groups.
And at the end of the year, drawing in community feels...right. <3
All it requires is some paper, pens, and something to add color.
Like the deepest and most complex systems that appear simple and flowing on the outside, neurographics have simple principles and practices backed by decades of neuroscience research.
After learning about neurographic art, I began to practice on my own. I developed some of my own techniques and artistic style, but there are unlimited ways to do this, and they all work to help you smooth your nerotransmitters and ease your anxiety.
Leading scientists around the world have used neurographics in art therapy programs to reduce stress, increase mindfullness, and engage the right brain.
Scientific studies show that neurographics can help ease PTSD, stuck emotions, trauma, and anxiety.
True story: I now bring my notepad and a couple of pens with me wherever I go. If the news stresses me out, or I have a few minutes of time and don’t want to doomscroll on my phone (talk about anxiety-provoking!),
I start a new drawing.
On Sunday, December 28 I’ll be hosting a live online workshop to teach others about this technique. No artistic ability required. I’ll share lots of examples of how neurographic art can be used, some background about why it works, and plenty of pictures highlighting different techniques.
For folks who join on live, I’ve also got some additional bonuses to share with folks with more simple, somatic approaches to reduce stress and anxiety in the moment quickly.
I hope you’ll join us, and bring a friend.
Feels a little weird to say this about a workshop on anxiety, but this is going to be fun!
I promise.
